Code of Conduct for Student

Shri Kumareshwar Arts & Commerce College Hangal aims to create a disciplined, respectful & value-based learning environment. Students are expected to uphold the dignity of the college through responsible behavior, good manners & academic sincerity.

Discipline & Behavio

Students must stay disciplined, polite, and respectful. Misbehavior, shouting, or< disturbing classes is not allowed. Courtesy toward teachers and peers is essential.

Attendance & Punctuality

Students must attend all lectures and activities regularly. Maintain required attendance and avoid late entry or leaving class without permission.

Dress Code & Identity

Students should dress neatly and modestly, reflecting the college’s dignity. Wearing the college ID card on campus is compulsory at all times.

Academic Integrity

Assignments, tests, and exams must be done honestly. Cheating or copying is prohibited. Respect teachers, use resources well, and participate actively.

Use of College Property

Handle classrooms, furniture, and books with care. Any damage must be reported and compensated. Littering or damaging property is forbidden.

Mobile Phones & Devices

Mobiles are banned during lectures and in the library. Keep phones silent. Misuse of devices for recording or sharing content is punishable.

Ragging & Harassment

Ragging in any form is banned. Offenders face strict action under UGC rules. Respect others’ dignity, privacy, and safety at all times.

Participation & Representation

Students should join sports, NSS, and cultural programs. Represent the college with good conduct and uphold institutional values.

Cleanliness & Environment

Maintain cleanliness in classrooms and campus. Save water, avoid plastic, and support environmental protection activities for a better future.

General Conduct

Follow college rules and notices. Smoking, alcohol, drugs, or illegal acts are banned. Show courtesy and respect toward all members.

Code of Conduct for Staff

The college is committed to fostering academic excellence, professional ethics, and discipline among its faculty. All members are expected to demonstrate responsibility, integrity, and commitment in teaching, research, and institutional activities.

Code of Ethics for Teachers

Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. Support peers, mentor new faculty, pursue growth, and report misconduct responsibly.

Academic Responsibilities

Teach effectively, complete syllabus on time, guide students, assess fairly, and contribute to co-curricular and administrative duties.

Dress Code

Male: Formal shirts tucked with trousers and shoes. Female: Saree or formal Indian attire suitable for academic settings.

ID Card Policy

Faculty must wear ID cards on campus. Cards can be checked only for verification and must be returned immediately after.

Communication with Parents

Faculty should not contact parents directly. Meetings occur only with Principal’s or Discipline Committee’s recommendation.

Student Discipline & Attendance

Take attendance within 5 minutes. No punishments allowed. Report indiscipline or dress code violations to HOD or Principal.

Course Diary

Maintain a Course Diary with syllabus, lecture plan, notes attendance, and assessment records for every semester.

Leave & Class Adjustment

Arrange substitutes before taking leave. classes result in unauthorized leave marking.

Resignation Procedure

Submit three months’ notice and original certificates. Early relief may be granted at management’s discretion.

Examination Guidelines

Arrive 30 minutes early. Only hall ticket, ID, and calculator allowed. No electronics. Report malpractice immediately.

Practical Examinations

Conduct exams in labs only. Both examiners share assessment and sign mark sheets after evaluation.

Promotion Policy

Faculty with 5+ years and required qualifications may be promoted based on performance, research, and feedback.

Duties of HOD

Supervise academics, ensure syllabus completion, conduct meetings, manage discipline, and organize department programs.

Discipline in College Transport

Faculty must supervise students during bus travel and report any ragging or misconduct promptly for everyone’s safety and discipline.

Duties of Laboratory Technicians

Maintain equipment, records, and safety measures. Ensure labs function efficiently with first-aid and fire safety tools for better readiness.

Duties of Lab In-Charges

Oversee lab maintenance, procure needed materials, and ensure technicians manage equipment properly during sessions.

Prevention of Sexual Harassment

The college is dedicated to preventing sexual harassment through awareness, vigilance & education. It enforces a zero-tolerance policy, promotes respect, and ensures a safe space for all. Regular workshops, counseling, and strict disciplinary actions encourage dignity, equality, and ethical behavior across the campus community.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Includes unwelcome physical contact, verbal abuse, offensive jokes, sharing explicit content, or any behavior causing discomfort.

Regular workshops, seminars & campaigns promote gender sensitivity, ethics, and professional conduct within the campus.

Preventive Measures

Strict supervision of campus, open communication, peer support & surveys ensure safety and promote respectful interaction.

Reporting & Grievance

Students & staff can report incidents confidentially. Support, guidance & fair redressal are provided to all complainants with full sincerity.
